Sabiu Bello Abubakar is a seasoned insurance professional of outstanding repute a Fellow Member of Chartered Insurance Institute of London, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and Nigeria Association of Corporate Governance Professionals. He is an associate and Chartered Member of the above Institutes and Toronto Centre of Canada as well as Nigerian Institute of Management. A graduate of education from Usman Danfodio University Sokoto and he holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance & Investment) at Bayero University Kano.

Having long years of work experience in the Insurance Industry serving in various capacity, he started his working career with NICON Insurance Corporation and worked in a number of other insurance organizations in Nigeria, prominent among them are Industrial and General Insurance Company (IGI). Cornerstone Insurance Plc and the National Insurance Commission.

Jaiz Takaful Insurance Plc appointed Mr. Abubakar as Executive Director Operations and Training of the Company in year 2017.

In year 2020 the President and Commander in Chief of army forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari GCFR, appointed Sabiu Bello Abubakar as Deputy Commissioner Technical of National Insurance Commission of Nigeria.

Mr. Abubakar has joined Salam Takaful Insurance Company as Managing Director/CEO on first July 2024. A prominent advocate and facilitator in Financial Inclusion in Nigeria, particularly Takaful Insurance and Microinsurance with special skill in Insurance Regulation and Supervision, Oil/Energy Insurance, Reinsurance.
