Mansur Isa Yelwa is an Imam, Jurist, Lawyer and a Professor of Islamic Law with the Department of Islamic Law under the Faculty of Law, Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria. He holds Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Comparative Laws from the prestigious International Islamic University, Malaysia. Earlier, he obtained a First Class Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Law from the noble Islamic University, Medina, KSA. He specializes in various fields of Islamic Law, Comparative Laws, Qur’anic Sciences, Islamic Economics and Finance. He is the Chief Imam of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Central Mosque in Bauchi. He studied various subjects of Islamic classical jurisprudence from prominent Muslim scholars in Nigeria and abroad. He won numerous prestigious awards at national and international levels in Qur’anic competitions, academic excellence and societal reoriention. His research works include numerous publications in books, journal articles, papers presented at several international seminars and conferences in various areas of Islamic law and counter-insurgency discourses. He is a member of distinguished professional bodies in Nigeria and a fellow of numerous international institutions in various fields of academia and conflict resolutions. He is a renowned public figure in Islamic oratory and delivers academic and public lectures in Nigeria and around the globe.
